Jordan Love primed to make all sorts of Packers history in 2025

Jordan Love might need only three seasons to move into the top five all-time in a couple of Packers passing categories.

Given the Green Bay Packers' ridiculous history at the quarterback position, a lineage that includes Bart Starr, Brett Favre, and Aaron Rodgers, who combined to throw for 145,428 yards and 1,069 touchdowns (regular season only) and won a combined eight NFL MVP Awards, it's obviously going to take Jordan Love some time to make his way into the franchise's all-time top three in most major passing categories.

That said, however, with a strong 2025 campaign, the 26-year-old can make his way into the Packers' all-time top five in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and QB wins, which is pretty impressive, seeing as how the upcoming season will be only his third as the Packers' regular starter.

Love is already off to a solid start to his career, having thrown for 8,154 yards and 60 touchdowns in 42 regular-season appearances over his first four seasons in Green Bay, going 18-15 in 33 starts during that stretch.

In his first three years sitting behind Rodgers after being taken by Green Bay in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 26th overall selection, the Utah State alum appeared in 10 total games but started just one of them, going 0-1 while throwing for 606 yards and three scores.

So, the bulk of his numbers have obviously come from the past two seasons. And for those wondering, Love's stats from those two campaigns compare quite nicely to those of the three legends mentioned above in their first two years as Green Bay's regular QB1, ranking second only to Rodgers in both yardage (7,548 to 8,472) and TD passes (57 to 58).

So, let's see what Love needs to do in 2025 to crack the top five in a few categories.

Jordan Love needs 3,382 passing yards to pass Robin Tote for fifth on the Packers' all-time list

Heading into the 2025 season, Love sits in seventh on the all-time Packers' passing yards list, trailing the trio mentioned above, Lynn Dickey, Robin Tote, and Don Majkowski.

As you can see, Love needs 2,717 yards to surpass Majkowksi for solo sixth and 3,382 to take down Rote for solo fifth, both of which are doable, as he threw for 3,389 this past season. And that was with missing a pair of games.

Playing all 17 games in 2023, Love went for 4,159 yards. So, assuming he stays healthy, he should easily get to the No. 5 slot by the end of the upcoming season.

Love needs 30 TD passes to move into the No. 5 slot among Green Bay's all-time leaders

As mentioned, Love has thrown 60 regular-season touchdown passes during his career thus far, which currently has him in eighth on Green Bay's all-time list.

Getting into the top five here might be a bit more challenging, as he needs 30 to pass Rote, but it's definitely doable. Love tossed 25 touchdowns a season ago despite missing two full games but threw 32 in 2023. So, it'll undoubtedly be close.

Love needs nine regular-season wins to move into fifth on the Packers' all-time QB victories list

Lastly, we come to the Packers' all-time regular-season wins list, where Love currently ranks seventh with his 18 victories.

As you can see in this regard, Love needs to guide the Packers to at least nine wins in 2025 to move into solo fifth on this particular list, which is exactly the number of victories he's posted in each of the last two years, going 9-8 in 2023 and 9-6 in 2024.

Green Bay is tied for the fifth-toughest strength of schedule in 2025 based on last year's records and will play nine games against teams that made the postseason, one of which comes against Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8.

So, it certainly won't be easy. But given the improvements this team has made during the offseason and another year of experience under his belt, there's no reason to think Jordan Love can't get the job done. And that goes for all three categories.
