The Green Bay Packers haven't figured out the puzzle that has been special teams play in the last decade or so. In fact, an improvement in that realm may be the missing piece to another Super Bowl run, but it's been a futile effort for the Green and Gold.

Rich Bisaccia was supposed to be the one to rid the Packers of this curse and finally make strides in the often-forgotten and undervalued third facet of professional football. But his tenure ended unceremoniously on Tuesday, as he stepped down from his post as special teams coordinator.

Of course, this left fans with mixed feelings. On the one hand, Bisaccia never lived up to his billing in Green Bay. On the other hand, he was a great man and leader, and it is very late in the coaching cycle to be searching for an adequate replacement. Perhaps Keisean Nixon's brief reaction says it all.

Keisean Nixon's heartbroken reaction to Rich Bisaccia news says it all

It didn't take much for Nixon to express how he felt about the situation. In fact, it didn't take any words. But he posted the following one-emoji reaction shortly after the news of Bisaccia's departure surfaced, essentially saying that he is heartbroken.

Depending on how one feels about this situation, one could agree with Nixon in a few ways. For Nixon and likely several of the Packers' players, they are heartbroken about their beloved coach leaving. The results may not have been there, but his leadership and affection for his players are undeniable.

For Cheeseheads, they may feel heartbroken that things never got better on the field, and that, after several years of not improving the special teams unit, Bisaccia has left Matt LaFleur and Co. in a tricky position, finding his replacement.

This news hits Nixon especially hard, however, as the now-Pro Bowl cornerback rose through the ranks as a special-teamer with the Oakland and Las Vegas Raiders under Bisaccia. When Bisaccia left for Green Bay, Nixon followed him and blossomed into the player he is today.

He was an All-Pro special teamer and a Pro Bowl cornerback under Bisaccia's tutelage, so it is understandable that Nixon feels heartbroken about his coach's decision to step down. And Nixon wasn't the only player that Bisaccia helped.

Although this sudden departure feels like another black mark or a slap in the face at the end of his Packers tenure, fans should remember who Bisaccia is. He's the guy who hand-wrote letters to each one of his Raiders players after a brutal playoff loss in 2021.

Nate Hobbs spoke at length about the impact that Bisaccia had on him as a person, as have Maxx Crosby and several other former Raiders. He made a true impact in Green Bay. You can say what you want about his prowess on the field, but Nixon's reaction truly says everything.
