Latest Aaron Rodgers rumor may put an end to Packers-Davante Adams reunion

Rumors rumors are no fun, unless the Packers are part of one.

Another day, another opportunity for the New York Jets to ruin everyone's fun.

After the disaster that was this season, everyone seemed to be on the same page about what came next for the Jets. They were going to clean house, start over, and maybe just stay away from nationally-televised games for the next couple years. We all gave them the opportunity to sit at the adults table, and they couldn't handle that responsibility.

But now it seems like the Jets maybe learned nothing at all? How unlike them. According to [deep sigh] New York Yankees announcer and habitually angry radio host Michael Kay, the Jets want to keep Rodgers around. Seriously. Yeah, to play quarterback. I was just as surprised as you are.

The Jets are apparently trying to run the Davante Adams-Aaron Rodgers thing back in 2025

“For the Jets, the one thing you don’t have to worry about is the head coach’s salary,” he said. “That doesn’t go past anybody’s salary cap or anything like that. And there is word out there, there’s been leaks I’ve heard that whatever they pay Aaron Glenn, he’s made it known that he would like to keep Aaron Rodgers."

On one hand, this is very funny and I think it should happen. As we've learned over the last few years, keeping Aaron Rodgers around is a wonderful idea that will work out exactly as expected. There's absolutely no downside whatsoever to keeping him as the starting quarterback of your football team.

On the other hand, Aaron Glenn doesn't deserve this. I'd argue no one deserves to deal with the Jets, but Glenn's first shot at a coaching gig should come with more optimism than this. Rodgers looked a little better over the final month of the season, but what are we really talking about here? He's 41 years old. 41!

Also, if this means that Davante Adams doesn't fulfill his destiny and return to Green Bay, I'm going to be irate. You don't just spend two months hinting at it on Kay Adams' show only to go back to the *Jets.* There's nothing for you there, Davante. Don't let Rodgers' weird offseason shenanigans convince you otherwise. There's a reason you said Jayden Daniels reminded you of Jordan Love, not Rodgers. New York's so played out, anyway. Green Bay is the new hot destination for 2025.
