It's been almost a week since our last attempt to bring Davante Adams back to Green Bay, and that's six days too long.
Adams' tenure with the Jets went about as well as anyone else's tenure with the Jets go, and he'll most likely be a free agent when the new league year begins this March. He's still under contract for this season, but everyone on the planet expects the Jets to balk at his $36 million cap hit this season and let him test free agency.

That, of course, opens the door for the lovely, heart-warming reunion that he's kiiiiiiiinda been hinting at for the last month. The latest example is a bit of a stretch, but since when has that stopped the internet from speculating?
In this week's appearance on Kay Adams' show, he was asked about Commanders' star rookie QB Jayden Daniels. His answer will have Packers fans' heads spinning in about three different ways, which is the hallmark of any great, bloggable soundbite.
Davante Adams sees a lot of Jordan Love in Jayden Daniels
Adams spoke about Daniels after the Commanders' big win over the Lions.
"I know people are going to act crazy from me saying this, but I don't mean it in any other way but what I'm saying," Adams said. "He reminds me a lot of, the temperament, the calmness, just the smoothness out there, he's a lot like J. Love. As far as the demeanor goes. You never see him get worked up ... It's a different type of veteran feel back there."
I don't know enough about football to definitively say one way or another if that comparison is actually all that accurate, but I know one thing is true: I am absolutely going to act crazy about Adams saying this. He's spot on there. Props to Kay Adams for (kinda?) jokingly teasing him about how he always finds a way to bring the conversation back to the Packers. He does! It's true! That's the type of Inception-style recruiting we love to see from the national media.
I know Adams really wanted to play with Daniels in Vegas, but that obviously didn't happen. He could, however, still get the chance to play with a QB that he thinks is just like Daniels! That has the temperament, calmness, and smoothness out there! I know a sales pitch when I see one, and I bet Brian Gutekunst does too.
