Matt LaFleur kept his cards close to his chest regarding Jordan Love's status for Week 17, but backup quarterback Malik Willis provided a more encouraging update.

Willis battled through a shoulder injury late in the loss to the Chicago Bears. After noting that he should be good to go on Saturday night, Willis provided an update on Love.

"He's good. He's chillin," Willis said, via The Athletic's Matt Schneidman.

Schneidman also noted that Love can't speak to reporters while he's in the concussion protocol, but "he was in locker room, on phone and said some words in passing."

As LaFleur put it on Tuesday, both quarterbacks are "by no means are they in the clear" yet, but the early indications seem encouraging.

Love participated in the Packers' walkthrough practice on Tuesday, only three days after suffering a concussion. Willis also practiced. It follows a prediction from Adam Schefter of ESPN that at least one of the two should be good for Saturday night. Based on Willis' comments, it sounds like they both could be ready to play.

Of course, Love still needs to continue progressing through the strict concussion protocol, and until he's cleared, there's some uncertainty. The same goes for Willis, who injured his throwing shoulder late in the game.

Another potential clue is the Packers' decision not to add a quarterback to the roster. For now, Clayton Tune is all they have. Brian Gutekunst's lack of urgency to add more insurance is interesting.

It's a different scenario for the Baltimore Ravens, who also face quarterback uncertainty. Lamar Jackson exited their loss to the New England Patriots with a back injury, which head coach John Harbaugh described as a "significant contusion." Jackson didn't practice on Tuesday and is in jeopardy of missing this week's game.

We'll have to wait and see on both Love and Willis, although the Packers' backup may have accidentally dropped a hint. He told reporters that he should be ready to play, and based on what he said about Love, the early indications sound encouraging.
