Matt LaFleur snaps at reporters over comparing Jordan Love to Brett Favre
Matt LaFleur sees your Jordan Love-Brett Favre comparisons, and Matt LaFleur hates them.
It's not exactly a new phenomenon. The Green Bay Packers are one of the few franchises across the NFL where every franchise quarterback is always going to be compared to the guy before him, whether that's Love, Favre, or Aaron Rodgers.
All in all, life's pretty good when you have a franchise guy for three straight decades, but one of the downsides is that you occasionally get moments like the one on Sunday, where LaFleur made his opinion on the comparisons known crystal clear.

Shortly after the Packers' two point win over the Houston Texans on Sunday, LaFleur was at the end of his postgame press conference – he was quite literally answering the final question of the afternoon – when someone asked about how much Love resembles Favre.
Both were known for their ... fearless ... decision-making, and Love's relative lack of ball security is a stark contrast compared to Rodgers. It also doesn't help that Love quite literally wore Favre's jersey ahead of their game against the Minnesota Vikings a few weeks back. Since then, he has thrown 13 touchdown passes with seven interceptions.
Against the Texans, Love completed 24 of 33 passes for 220 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Matt LaFleur does NOT like comparing Jordan Love to Brett Favre
"Hopefully, we can put him in better situations so he's not throwing picks." LaFleur said. "So all you can talking heads out there can ease on the Brett Favre comparisons."
Admittedly, 'snaps' is probably a bit much. You can definitely see LaFleur's face flash some annoyance while the reporter continues on with a question that's 20 seconds longer than it needed to be. In his defense, I'd be annoyed too if I was one question away from getting to enjoy a well-earned victory Monday, only to have to discuss the comparisons between my current starting quarterback and a guy who played in Green Bay decades before I showed up.
As one of the talking heads that LaFleur is talking about, I think it's my responsibility to do my part and compare the two until he can put Love in better situations where he's not throwing picks; it's the least I can do.
Frankly, from a *football* perspective, there could be worse comparisons. But Love has the Packers winning just about as much as Favre did, so you kinda understand it. And frankly, the fact that this is the headline after the Packers beat one of the best teams in football speaks to how good things are in Green Bay right now.
