The Green Bay Packers have essentially had an unbroken line of high-end quarterback play that spans back over 30 years. Brett Favre eventually passed the torch to Aaron Rodgers, who later vacated the QB1 spot in favor of rising young star Jordan Love.

The Packers' QB fraternity was dealt a major blow this week when Favre gave fans a very negative update about his health. Favre, while testifying before Congress amid his welfare scandal, revealed that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Favre is just 53 years old.

Favre's diagnosis prompted an outpouring of sympathy from Packers fans, as this is a very unfortunate diagnosis to befall one of the greatest to ever play this game. Love, who was just reactivated after his Week 1 knee injury, paid tribute to Favre in his own way before a very important divisional game.

Love was seen wearing a No. 4 Packers jersey before Green Bay's duel against Sam Darnold and the hated Minnesota Vikings. Favre was very appreciative of the gesture, saying that he "didn't think I could like Jordan anymore until this morning." Love is once again showing respect to the greats who came before him.

Love fought to get back into action against the Vikings. While Malik Willis led the Packers to two wins against the Colts and Titans, the Packers are clearly a much more explosive passing game when Love is in the fold. Despite his knee injury, Love will tough it out against Minnesota.

On the field, Favre remains one of the best in NFL history, as he piled up more than 70,000 career passing yards and 500 touchdown passes while leaning on his uncommon durability to start every game in a near-two decade span. The Packers' franchise is clearly reeling as a result of Favre's illness.

Love has quickly become a fan favorite in Green Bay, as touches like this show that he has the proper respect for the quarterbacks who led the Packers to success in the past. In light of Favre being hit with such a concerning illness, this was a classy move from Love.
