Matthew Golden has done everything right.
The first-round wide receiver reminds fans of his superstar potential every time he steps on the field, either at practice or in preseason action. The Green Bay Packers may finally have their WR1, but his No. 22 jersey? That has split opinion.
However, one day after Micah Parsons became the first Packers player to receive the No. 1 jersey since Curly Lambeau almost a century ago, Golden has dropped a hint of a historic number change of his own.
Golden turned to social media and first posted the eyes emojis, hinting that something is coming. He followed it with another message: "0."

Matthew Golden hints at becoming the first Packers player ever to wear the No. 0 jersey
What else could it mean? Golden hinted something big was imminent with his first post, and a simple "0" can mean nothing else, right?
Golden had a heartfelt reason for choosing the No. 22 jersey. He said two was his grandma's favorite number growing up and that "she told me she wanted me to represent that number." The No. 2 jersey belongs to Malik Willis, so Golden instead opted for No. 22.
It's undoubtedly unique for a wide receiver, and it sure looks like Golden is hinting at a change.
If the Packers have softened their stance on the (unofficially) retired No. 1 jersey, it makes sense that they'd be willing to hand out the No. 0 jersey for the first time in the franchise's history. Days after an earth-shattering trade for Parsons, why not make another piece of history?
No matter what number jersey Golden wears, Packers fans have good reason to be excited.
But if we are correctly reading into the rookie's cryptic social media post, fans may soon get their wish. Has Golden switched to No. 0? If so, he deserves a free pass to the Hall of Fame.
Golden in No. 0? If that doesn't scream multi-time All-Pro wide receiver, I don't know what does.
