Mark your calendar, Green Bay Packers fans, because the club will take part in the NFL's inaugural Thanksgiving Eve game! Micah Parsons wasted no time saving the date already, that's for sure.

Parsons relishes the big stage; it's one of many traits that make him a one-man wrecking crew. He's clearly eager to be under the national spotlight when his Packers travel to SoFi Stadium to face the Los Angeles Rams.

All Parsons needed was one emoji, which he used five times for emphasis, to make his excitement about the highly anticipated primetime clash in Inglewood. The star pass rusher took to social media shortly after the news of Green Bay's matchup against the reigning NFC runner-up broke.

His reaction? Five fire emojis.

Micah Parsons sets the stage for electrifying Packers-Rams Thanksgiving Eve showdown

No wonder Parsons is very stoked. What's better than a high-powered showdown between two of the best teams in their conference on one of the best days of the calendar year? There are so many fun and interesting storylines to monitor when the Packers and Rams go toe to toe.

2026 will mark the first time Green Bay will play on a Wednesday in nearly a century. They took on the Chicago Cardinals in Buffalo back in 1938 (h/t Weston Hodkiewicz of Packers.com). It's fitting for one of the most storied franchises in American sports, let alone football, to help ring in Turkey Day.

Another fascinating layer to the Packers-Rams duel is the connection and friendship between their respective head coaches, Matt LaFleur and Sean McVay. The former was famously the latter's offensive coordinator before becoming Green Bay's leader in 2019. They also worked together on the Washington Commanders' staff from 2010 through 2013.

LaFleur's Packers have notably won all five meetings versus the McVay-led Rams, as Matt Schneidman of The Athletic highlighted. Can Los Angeles finally get on the board, or will Green Bay continue to dominate the head-to-head battle? Time will tell.

It's worth mentioning that Parsons is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered this past December. By all accounts, his rehab has gone smoothly, though. We were already expecting to see him on the field come Week 12 of 2026, but the perennial All-Pro practically confirmed as much.
