The Green Bay Packers currently find themselves at the top of the NFC, as the addition of pass rusher Micah Parsons has taken this defense from a solid unit that was playing above itself to one of the best in the league, thanks to a dominant pass rush.

With Parsons reaffirming himself as one of the premier players in the NFL, which has helped Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness also put together some very impressive seasons alongside him, things have been complicated now that many of Green Bay's better depth options have been pushed to the side.

Kingsley Enagbare went from a respectable backup to someone who has seen his snaps all but vanish in the 2025 season. A return in 2026 seems unlikely due to the huge contract that Parsons is bringing with him, which could lead Green Bay to consider a trade.

ESPN's Matt Bowen and Jeremy Fowler listed Enagbare as one of 25 players that fans should keep an eye on, making him one of the few players that could be discarded by the Packers as part of a win-now trade. Bowen and Fowler gave him a 25 percent chance of being traded.

Packers may need to consider trading Kingsley Enagbare before the deadline

Enagbare has been a somewhat reliable backup pass rusher with the Packers, compiling 10 sacks in the last four years. While he wasn't drafted to be a run defender, Enagbare can more than hold his own in this area.

Green Bay might not trade Enagbare for a draft pick, but he could be a possible sweetener for anyone who is looking for a pass-rush upgrade. Perhaps a trade between two contenders, one of whom needs one of Green Bay's pass rushers, might be enough to get the versatile defender out of town?

Bowen and Fowler listed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers as teams who could acquire Enagbare in a trade. Even if the Packers didn't bring in Parsons, those two teams would have been circling for Enagbare in free agency.

Enagbare has put together four years of solid service as a fifth-round pick who has evolved into a dynamite situational pass rusher, but the Packers should be able to stomach losing him if Parsons continues to put together another dominant season.

That doesn't mean Green Bay can't squeeze some assets out of contenders, however.
