Micah Parsons' reaction to Malik Willis just made the Packers' collapse feel worse

As Malik Willis marched the Green Bay Packers' offense down the field with ease, it truly felt like the Chicago Bears couldn't stop him.

Willis, who had to step into the heat of battle under the highest pressure imaginable, made it look effortless. The veteran threw for 121 yards and a touchdown, rushed for 44 more yards, and crucially, the Packers never punted.

Micah Parsons took to social media to praise Willis midway through the game, but this just feels even more heartbreaking now we know how the game ended.

Micah Parsons spoke for every Packers fan but had no idea what was coming

The outcome of the game aside, Parsons is right. Willis was fantastic and deserved the win. He led long, clock-draining drives and consistently put the Packers in scoring positions.

Here's how each of Willis' possessions ended after he entered the game: Field goal. Josh Jacobs fumble in the red zone. Touchdown. Field goal. End of regulation. Turnover on downs.

Willis led back-to-back scoring drives to hand the Packers a 10-point lead with a little over five minutes remaining. By the time he next stepped onto the field, the defense and special teams had blown the lead, and the game was tied. Even on the final possession that ended with a botched snap on fourth down, Willis had moved the offense into Bears territory and looked on track to score again.

Even in heartbreaking defeat, Parsons' post is correct. Willis has proven yet again that he is good enough to start in this league.

Since arriving in Green Bay, the former Tennessee Titan has completed 76.5 percent of his passes for 684 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions, good for a 132.2 passer rating. He's added 201 yards and a score on the ground.

Willis did everything to win, but it wasn't to be.

The Packers face a potential quarterback problem in Week 17. It could be Willis again if Jordan Love doesn't clear the concussion protocol in time. But Willis, too, is dealing with a shoulder injury that Matt LaFleur described as a "legitimate deal." If neither can go, third-string passer Clayton Tune will get the start. Not ideal.

If healthy, the Packers may need Willis to step up again. They know one victory is enough to clinch a playoff berth (or a Detroit Lions loss), and the Packers still believe they can win the NFC North, which requires winning out.

Saturday's loss still hurts, though, and will for some time. Parsons' post is 100 percent right. Willis was phenomenal, even if it stings knowing how the team fell apart around his excellent play.
