Micah Parsons takes a not-so-subtle shot at Jerry Jones following Packers' win

It's been nearly two months since Micah Parsons was traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers and three weeks since the four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher got what was always going to be an emotional first game against his former team out of his system in that wild 40-40 tie on Sunday Night Football.

But that doesn't mean Parsons has put the past behind him just yet, as he's clearly not done taking shots at America's Team. Actually, allow me to rephrase. Parsons isn't done taking shots at the owner of America's Team, as he took a not-so-subtle dig at Jerry Jones after his monster day on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, racking up a career-high three sacks in the Packers' 27-23 victory.

But his sack total isn't the focus here. Instead, it was the holding penalty he drew against Arizona in the first half, which just hasn't been a thing all season and led to his lengthy rant against how games are officiated a few days back. And it was a holding call on a running play, no less, which is what led to his jab at Jones when asked about the call afterward.

"Yeah, in the run game, yeah," Parsons said. "So I'm pretty decent in the run game."

SHOT. FIRED.

Micah Parsons is making Jerry Jones eat his words about run defense

For those who may have forgotten, one of the big reasons Jones gave for shipping the Penn State product to the Packers was to improve the Cowboys' run defense, which is why he demanded Kenny Clark be included in the trade.

"This was a move to be better on defense, stopping the run," Jones said after the trade. "This was a move to, if we get behind, not be run on. And it was a deliberate move, a well-thought-out move to make this happen. In our judgment, this gives us a better chance to be a better team than we have been the last several years."

And how's that working out, Jerry?

Through their first seven games, including their Week 7 win over the Washington Commanders, the Cowboys have allowed 141.3 rushing yards per contest, the third-most in the entire NFL. Parsons and the Packers, meanwhile, have allowed the fewest yards on the ground this season, surrendering just 76.5 per game.

In addition to his three sacks against Arizona, Parsons recorded two other tackles in the Packers' victory, including a stuff on Cardinals running back Bam Knight in the first quarter that resulted in a 1-yard loss. Yeah, Micah (not Michael, Mr. Jones) is pretty decent in the run game.
