It's hard to keep track of everything.

Green Bay Packers fans had started coming to terms with the fact that star cornerback Jaire Alexander was as good as gone. All of the reports were indicating that a trade or even a release was likely in the cards for Alexander and the Packers.

Well, surprise! Earlier this week, a report had come out stating that Alexander and the Packers were trying to work on a solution that could keep them together. All options were still on the table it appeared.

There's another report thrown into the mix here and it's from Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, who wrote “I would think, at this point, the most likely scenario is that he’s back on a reduced contract that has incentives. We’ll see.”

NFL insider just changed the conversation surrounding Jaire Alexander and the Packers

So, the Packers and Alexander have gone from being done to now he might end up sticking around? It seems like a quick switch-up from what Packers fans were hearing this whole time. He was once considered to be as good as gone and now he might be sticking around? Complete turnaround.

All of that being said, it does still seem that Alexander's days with the Packers could be over. Rob Demovsky, the one who initially reported that a resolution between the two could still be in the cards, did say that a trade or release could also still happen.

So, with all of that said, what happens next truly is anyone's guess. Maybe Alexander is still wearing the green and gold this year. Maybe he gets traded to one of the four teams Breer listed as a potential landing spot for him (the 49ers, Chiefs, Rams, and Steelers, in case you were curious). Maybe he gets released and gets to pick where he wants to play next.

We'll have to wait and see how this saga ends.
