The Green Bay Packers will quickly shift their focus to cutdown day, as they must trim their squad from 90 players to 53 by the 5 p.m. CT deadline on Sunday, August 30.

Green Bay closed out the preseason with a bang, but it only made Brian Gutekunst's decisions even tougher. Cutdown day can move at 100 mph. Be sure to bookmark this page and keep checking back regularly for the latest Packers updates.

Notable cuts/trades

Kyle McCord, QB

Wow! The Packers won't be waiving Kyle McCord because they have traded him to the Miami Dolphins, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Green Bay will receive a 2028 sixth-round pick. The move also confirms that Tyrod Taylor will back up Jordan Love this season.

Domani Jackson, CB

According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, the Packers are waiving sixth-round pick Domani Jackson. Gutekunst doesn't move on from draft picks often, but he didn't have much choice here. Jackson missed a lot of the summer due to injury, and he endured an awful performance in the preseason finale. Per PFF, he allowed four catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. Green Bay will likely try to bring him back to the practice squad.

Will Sheppard, WR

This one hurts. Will Sheppard had an outstanding preseason, capped off by a touchdown catch and an 81-yard punt-return touchdown in Friday night's game against the Arizona Cardinals. He has made plays on offense and special teams. The Packers will hope to bring him back to the practice squad.

Isaiah Neyor, WR

Isaiah Neyor had a standout summer and looked like he could seriously help the Packers' offense this season. But with so much competition at wide receiver, the team has moved on. Neyor ended the preseason on the worst possible note, dropping a would-be 65-yard touchdown catch. He's a name to watch on waivers.

Nyjalik Kelly, Edge

This one hurts. According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Packers are cutting undrafted rookie Nyjalik Kelly but "hope he clears" waivers so they can re-sign him to the practice squad. That's not guaranteed, though, after Kelly recorded one sack, one interception, three tackles for loss, and four pressures in the preseason finale.

Cal Adomitis, LS

Long snappers are people, too. According to Bill Huber of Packers On SI, the Packers are waiving Cal Adomitis. This feels like a gamble, as Adomitis has taken the reps all summer while Matt Orzech has been injured. The operation has worked perfectly in the preseason, with rookie Trey Smack making all nine of his kicks. Now, the Packers will presumably turn back to Orzech, who has spent all of camp on the PUP list.

Potential waiver wire targets from around the NFL

Will Levis, QB

Ian Rapoport reports that the Tennessee Titans are waiving quarterback Will Levis. The Packers traded Kyle McCord earlier in the day, with Tyrod Taylor taking the No. 2 job. Would Levis' availability force Green Bay to reconsider the No. 2 spot? It's something to watch.

Colby Wooden, DT

Yes, you read that correctly. The same Colby Wooden whom the Packers traded away this offseason in a rare player-for-player deal for Zaire Franklin.

While Green Bay has since added Javon Hargrave and Chris McClellan to the defensive line, not to mention Anthony Campbell's impressive summer, a reunion with Wooden could also make sense if Gutekunst wants some extra depth.

Kani Walker, CB

The Packers could be in the market for cornerback depth, especially after waiving sixth-round pick Domani Jackson. According to Ryan Talbot, the Buffalo Bills have surprisingly cut undrafted rookie Kani Walker, a standout in the preseason.

According to Pro Football Focus, Walker allowed just three catches on eight targets for 20 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He gave up a passer rating of just 45.8 in his coverage. Walker could generate some interest around the league and is a name to watch for the Packers.
