The Green Bay Packers' second OTA practice will be open to reporters, but the team has made a change to the post-practice media availability.
According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, the Packers have canceled player availability. Head coach Matt LaFleur will speak to reporters at 11:05 a.m. CT before practice, but players will no longer meet with the media.
The initial schedule had Packers players being available to speak to reporters in the locker room following practice, which begins at 11:20 a.m., shortly after LaFleur's press conference.
Matt LaFleur will meet with reporters before Packers' practice on Wednesday
It's an unsurprising move to cancel the media availability. On Tuesday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that running back Josh Jacobs had turned himself in to Hobart/Lawrence PD and was booked on five charges, including domestic abuse, battery, strangulation and suffocation of a victim, and intimidation of a victim.
According to Kyle Malzhan of WFRV Local 5, Jacobs will appear in front of a judge at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Jacobs' attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, released this statement: "Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public. We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course."
The Packers have understandably made a change to their media availability, but LaFleur will still speak to reporters at the scheduled time. The practice session will also still be available to reporters, which is the first time during OTAs this spring.
Green Bay held its first OTA practice on Tuesday, but it was a closed practice.
The Packers will continue their OTAs on Friday, and their remaining practices will be held on June 1-2, June 4, June 15-16, and June 18. They will hold their three-day mandatory minicamp from June 9-11. Some of those practices will also be available to the media, although it's unclear when players will be next made available to meet with reporters following a practice.
