Packers could strike quick on a perfect trade with this desperate NFC team

The Green Bay Packers have a great chance to make a perfect trade.

The Green Bay Packers have a surplus at wide receiver, but there could be a desperate NFC team that could help them with that. It's not a bad thing, but the Packers aren't going to be able to keep all of their players at the position heading into 2025.

With the Packers having first-round rookie Matthew Golden and third-round rookie Savion Williams in the receiver room, other guys could get pushed out, but they may simply be too good to just release outright. It would be ideal if the Packers could hit the trade market to swing a deal or two at the position.

And fortunately, there is another NFC team appearing to be quite dire at the position.

The 49ers' WR room is in shambles (and the Packers could cash in)

Brandon Aiyuk has no timetable for his return from a torn ACL. Deebo Samuel is gone, and now, Jauan Jennings has again hurt the calf that's been bugging him this offseason.

It's getting quite ridiculous, and it seems like the 49ers are always hurt in some fashion. Right now, the injury bug is infecting their receiver room in a big way, and with San Francisco obviously trying to win this season and not being shy about making a big-time move.

The logical player who could get moved is obviously Romeo Doubs, who is a free agent following the 2025 season. It's not super clear what kind of return Green Bay could get, but this could be a great move for both sides as the Packers try to ascend into contention and as the 49ers try to sift through their WR injuries.

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst should keep his foot on the gas in building this roster, as the NFC North only seems to be getting better, so in order for Green Bay to keep hanging around, bold trades like this are sometimes necessary.
