Green Bay Packers fans were sweating bullets when the rumors started to surface about the Chicago Bears potentially being interested in a move up to draft Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. While Packers fans hate to admit it, Jeanty would have given the Bears a lethal weapon on their growing offense and that'd not have been fun to have had to go up against twice a year.

Fortunately, that's not the timeline Packers fans have to live in. The Bears didn't move up and Jeanty ended up going sixth overall to the Las Vegas Raiders. The rest of the AFC West will have to deal with finding a way to slow Jeanty down now and the Packers don't have to be fearful of stopping him.

Packers fans will be elated that Ashton Jeanty didn't end up in NFC North

Jeanty was an absolute freak of nature on the gridiron during his 2024 season with the Boise State Broncos, rushing for over 2,600 yards and nearly 30 touchdowns en route to Boise State's College Football Playoff appearance. The Bears, now armed with Ben Johnson as their head coach, would have been a nightmarish landing spot for Jeanty at least from a Packer's fan's perspective.

Luckily the Bears weren't able to work out a trade and now Jeanty is going to a totally different conference. Giving Caleb Williams any sort of help for his second season should be Chicago's strategy but the Bears missed out on giving him the best running back in the draft and Packers fans are grateful for that.

Let's hope the Bears continue to miss out on all of their hopes and dreams as the 2025 NFL Draft continues on. For now, getting to avoid having to deal with Jeanty for at least two games a year is a huge win for the Green Bay Packers. Let him be another division's problem.
