Tom Brady will finally make his highly anticipated and deliciously awkward return to New England this season, and the Green Bay Packers will have the best seat in the house.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Brady will return to Foxborough, Massachusetts, for the first time as a broadcaster for FOX in Week 9 against, you guessed it, the Packers.

Packers-Patriots could quietly be the most exciting game on Green Bay's entire schedule. It's a battle between Jordan Love and Drake Maye, leading two teams with Super Bowl ambitions. The addition of Brady in the booth elevates the theatre of this contest to an entirely new level.

The Tom Brady factor makes Packers-Patriots a truly cinematic matchup

If you're worried about Brady showing bias toward his former team, you needn't have any concerns. Quite the opposite, in fact. Before the Patriots' return to the Super Bowl in February, Brady famously said he didn't "have a dog in the fight."

Truly bizarre words from a player who spent two decades in New England and helped them win six Super Bowls. Brady made 14 Pro Bowl appearances and won three MVP awards with the Patriots, but his apparent disinterest in their recent success didn't go down well with the fans, and even some current members of the roster.

Say what you want about Aaron Rodgers, but he has publicly shared his love for the Packers from the moment he left. He bashes the Chicago Bears at any opportunity and never hides how much Green Bay means to him. One day, he will return and become a member of the Packers Hall of Fame.

Brady's relationship with the Patriots feels far too awkward, given all the success they shared.

This Week 9 game was already huge, with two of the league's best teams going at it. Two iconic franchises. But the Brady factor takes it to another level, and it may even become a distraction for the Patriots.

That's perfectly fine by us.

Green Bay will play six primetime games (including one on Thanksgiving Eve), a game on Christmas Day in Chicago, and a marquee afternoon slate for Brady's return in New England.

Almost every game feels big-time. The stakes have been raised even higher for Packers-Patriots. Brady's return promises to be awkward, especially if he's excitedly calling a Jordan Love game-winning touchdown in the final seconds.
