Brian Gutekunst's press conference couldn't have come at a better time amid the scorching hot Micah Parsons-to-Green Bay Packers internet rumors.

Gutekunst inevitably faced questions about the team's potential interest in trading for Parsons. He responded with classic coachspeak, but hidden amongst it was a possible clue into his real feelings.

"I can't talk about any players on any other teams," said Gutekunst. "Every opportunity that's out there that if we think can help the Packers, we're going to take a long look at. If that opportunity makes sense, we'll do it. If it doesn't, we won't."

So, is that a yes, then?

Brian Gutekunst drops a potential hidden clue about Packers' interest in Micah Parsons

Gutekunst is hardly going to stand at the podium and declare the Packers' interest in Parsons. But he didn't outright dismiss it. Coaches and GMs always give the schtick of not talking about another team's player while exploring every avenue that makes sense.

That's nothing new, but Gutekunst also said they will "take a long look at" any "opportunity that makes sense."

In response to Gutekunst's comments, Easton Butler of Packer Report wrote: "They've done more than just look, I can promise that."

Even if that's true, there's a difference between having interest in a player and getting a deal over the line. The Cowboys have a million reasons not to trade their star pass-rusher, especially to an NFC rival like the Packers. Holdouts and trade requests often result in the player receiving an extension — look no further than Trey Hendrickson.

Gutekunst would never outright admit the Packers had interest, even if they had struck a deal with the Cowboys. Nothing until it's official. We know that, and so did the reporters asking those questions.

But beneath the classic coachspeak lies a potential clue. Gutekunst didn't laugh it off. He didn't dismiss it. He delivered a key line that if there's a move that can help the Packers, they are "going to take a long look at" it. Gutey didn't have to say that.

The dream is alive. Maybe.
