Historic. Iconic. Traditional. All words used to describe the rare but always exciting contests between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Now add in the Aaron Rodgers element — a four-time MVP facing the team he led to a Super Bowl, while playing for the team and head coach he defeated for that championship. It's almost impossible to screw it up. The ingredients are there for an all-time classic on Sunday Night Football.
That didn't stop the Steelers from trying their hardest to ruin it by debuting their ugly yellow throwback uniforms for this game. This iconic game. How could they?
Beyond the uniforms being an eyesore, they also feature yellow helmets, which would've created an awful clash of colors. According to Daire Carragher of Packer Report, it would've been the first all-yellow helmet game since 1954.
That's one way to ruin an iconic game. Fortunately, the Packers weren't having any of it, and they're here to save the day. To counter the Steelers' unforgivable decision, Green Bay is bringing out its all-white Winter Warning uniforms.
Here are the ugly Steelers uniforms they will debut this week. Yuck.

Packers will wear their all-white uniforms vs. Steelers on SNF in Week 8
It still doesn't feel right. Aaron Rodgers' first and likely only career game against the Packers should include the traditional white and gold road uniforms. But the Packers had no choice. The Steelers created a confusing color clash, and Green Bay had to save the day.

The appropriately named NFL Fashion Advice account on X (formerly Twitter) put it best.
"Still a contender for worst of the week," the account posted, referring to the uniform matchup. "But kudos to the Packers for mitigating yellow clash. Steelers debuting this look against Green Bay is just another example of a team failing to consider an overall uniform matchup when making uni/combo decisions."
Beautifully put.
The good news is that we get to see the Packers' all-white uniforms, and we'll never complain about that. It's fun to occasionally switch up the look, and the white helmets are fun. Sure, the Packers shouldn't need to rock these uniforms in a classic matchup against the Steelers, but it's the best option given the circumstances.
And the joke is on the Steelers. They've forced the Packers into a uniform they've never lost in. Green Bay defeated the Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks while wearing the Winter Warning unis last season, and then took down the Washington Commanders in Week 2 earlier this year.
The Steelers tried to ruin the uniform matchup for Rodgers' revenge game. Fortunately, the Packers were there to save the day.
