How great it must feel to be a Green Bay Packers fan. Back in April, the Packers finally used a first-round pick on an offensive position player for the first time in 20 years by selecting wide receiver Matthew Golden. Four months later, the Packers made the blockbuster of all blockbusters.
On Thursday, the Packers acquired superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark. Additionally, the Packers signed Parsons to a four-year, $188 million contract extension.
Packers fans were understandably hyped about the trade. As it turns out, so was Golden, as evidenced by his tweet shortly after the trade was announced.

Matthew Golden is as hyped as Packers fans about Micah Parsons trade
Golden seems to be loving his time in Green Bay, and he hasn't even played in a regular-season game yet. He was drafted by the Packers in Green Bay to a near standing ovation and now watched his team go all-in to win another Super Bowl by bringing in a generational defensive player.
The Packers have run the NFC North for a long time, but they have watched the division get tougher. The Detroit Lions have been Super Bowl favorites in recent years. The Minnesota Vikings can't be counted out, considering the roster they have constructed. The Chicago Bears...are hoping Ben Johnson can replicate his success from Detroit.
The Packer have needed a star on the defensive line. Rashan Gary is a good edge rusher, but the team hasn't hit on a complementary option. Lukas Van Ness, the team's 2023 first-round pick, hasn't panned out so far. So, instead of running it back, general manager Brian Gutekunst made the biggest splash imaginable.
In four years in the NFL, Parsons recorded 256 combined tackles (172 solo, 84 assisted), 112 quarterback hits, 63 tackles for loss, 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries. Parsons was named to the Pro Bowl in every season of his career, earned First-team All-Pro nods in 2021 and 2022, and won the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year award in 2021.
How can you not be pumped up about this deal? The first game of the season can't arrive soon enough.
