The Green Bay Packers are on the receiving end of a lot of praise after winning their first two games in impressive fashion. Several analysts have already called the Packers the best team in the league, with some even considering Green Bay the favorite to win it all. The team, however, understands it’s just been two games, and there is plenty of work to be done.

The next step for the Packers is winning on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. Based on how Green Bay has looked so far this season, the Week 3 game is expected to be an easy one — it’s Cleveland.

However, despite the Browns’ 0-2 record and their reputation as a perpetually bad team, they could provide a tough challenge for Green Bay’s offense.

Packers must be sure to not underestimate Browns defense

Cleveland is coming off a 41-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, and by looking at the box score, it’s easy to assume Baltimore just ran through the Browns. In reality, the film shows that Cleveland’s defense did a good job limiting one of the best offenses in the league, but was let down by the other units that make up the Browns.

Against Cleveland, the Ravens were limited to 45 rushing yards on 21 carries, and Derrick Henry only had 23 yards on his 11 rushes. Additionally, Baltimore only had 242 yards of offense and was 3-of-12 on third down.

However, the Browns gave up a defensive score to the Ravens, a blocked punt, and an additional turnover. In other words, Cleveland’s defense was the only thing that showed up, but its job was complicated by the rest of the team.

Nevertheless, the Browns put together a solid defensive performance. They did that one week after limiting a healthy Cincinnati Bengals team to just 141 yards of offense and 17 points, despite Cleveland having another two turnovers.

This means the Packers are going on the road to face a serious defense, which gives Green Bay the opportunity to show just how good it actually is.
