Look good, play good, right? While jersey designs and alternate helmets don't actually impact what happens on the field, fans and media love paying attention to what the team is scheduled to wear on a week-by-week basis. In an era where we have had "Color Rush" jerseys, throwbacks, and fauxbacks, jersey reveals have become massive social media fodder.
Typically, the dollar signs follow. Fans want to embrace the new look when a team drops a new jersey design. Just ask the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as they recently brought back the beloved "Creamsicle" uniform combination. Of course, not every design is as positively received, as the Pittsburgh Steelers are becoming more and more aware (and the Packers will see for themselves).
Green Bay has been teasing a new jersey design for months now. After the well-received, all-green fauxback look inspired by the team's look in the early 1950s, and the mixed reaction to the "Winter Warning" alternate helmets, it was reported that the Packers were going to change the landscape once again with a new alternate look, complete with the NFL's first airbrushed helmet.
The reveal was supposed to come ahead of the Packers Shareholders Meeting, but a sporting goods giant may have stolen some of the thunder.

An eagle-eyed Packers fan got the internet talking after tracking down the new alternate jersey on the Dick's Sporting Goods website, in what seems like a premature reveal. The site has tried to remove the product, but the screenshots live on.
Of course, Packers fans and media alike have been scouring the team's databases to see where the inspiration has come from for the new look, assuming that the leak is legitimate. The Packers' official website has a history of the team's uniform combinations, with the closest match for this leaked jersey coming from the 1954-57 era.
The helmet has yet to be officially revealed, but the Packers' social media team teased a reveal set to come out on July 24.
