I mean, we did all kinda ask for this.
The weeks after the Packers' playoff loss were remarkably boring. Outside of watching the Lions absolutely bottle their best Super Bowl chance in decades, things have been pretty slow since the Packers went out with a whimper in the Wild Card round against the Eagles.
But since this is the NFL after all, it was only a matter of time before some sort of juicy, clickable story showed up in Green Bay. And maybe we should have all known that a week long media party masquerading as work would have been the perfect tinder for this type of story, but hindsight's 20/20.
Ever since Josh Jacobs went public with a ... kinda weird? ... answer about how the Packers need a more established #1 wide receiver, the reactions have been exactly what you would expect them to be.

The answer's drawn Jacobs into a bit of a controversy this week, and it was notable that his own teammate – wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks – didn't waste much time publicly denouncing the comment (on social media, of course). But now we have other players getting into the Quote Tweets, which means this is officially A Thing. Cowboys corner Jourdan Lewis had a similar message on Wednesday evening.
Josh Jacobs' comments about the Packers' WRs is causing a ton of unnecessary drama
"This is super weak," Lewis tweeted on Wednesday afternoon. "No one cares about the locker room anymore."
I mean, it is kinda weak, but super? I'm not so sure. It was pretty clearly an only-kinda clever attempt by the radio host to get Jacobs to admit that he wants Davante Adams to return to Green Bay, and so, if you can believe it, a local sports radio host's bit didn't exactly land. The host didn't make Jacobs expand on that topic the way Jacobs did, though, which is why it's hard to blame any teammates/other players for not loving it. But I don't think it's super weak.
And that, I think, is the end of Josh Jacobs' week at Radio Row. Whatever paper towel company hired him in the first place is going to have to find some other spokesman to talk about the power of new multi-layered water absorption technology.
