The Green Bay Packers may be at the top of the NFC once again, and their defense finally started to look like a dominant force once again thanks to Micah Parsons eating the Arizona Cardinals alive, but that doesn't mean this front office should stop trying to be extra aggressive in improving that side of the ball.

Even though defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is a former defensive backs coach, Green Bay hasn't exactly given him a bunch of future Hall of Famers to construct its ideal unit with. As such, teams have been able to pick them apart if Parsons and the pass rush are unable to get home.

NFL.com listed the cornerback position as the biggest need that Green Bay needs to address before the NFL trade deadline comes around. The market will be unusually stuffed with players who can help the Packers beef up their defensive back room, but one player could be particularly important for Brian Gutekunst to secure.

Alontae Taylor, currently plying his trade for the New Orleans Saints, might be the best way for the Packers to bring in a starting cornerback while simultaneously adding a young player with room to grow and a cheaper trade asset that isn't going to break the bank.

Packers must pursue a trade for Saints CB Alontae Taylor

Taylor has been one of the few Saints defensive players who seems to be buying into what Brandon Staley is selling, as he is putting together one of the best seasons of his career. His Pro Football Focus grade attests to that despite a poor defense around him.

Taylor's style of play should mesh well with what Green Bay wants to do. Tackling was his big weakness, and he seems to have improved in that area. At the line of scrimmage, Taylor has proven to be feisty enough against bigger receivers to give the Packers a high-upside depth piece.

The Saints might have put up some fights under Kellen Moore, but they are still going to be very motivated sellers as they build toward the future. The Packers may not be overflowing with draft picks, but their recent aggression has made it less of a prerequisite to add.

Anyone expecting Taylor to become LeRoy Butler is being unrealistic, but he also won't be a Quinten Rollins either. Depth has been the name of the game in Hafley's best secondaries throughout his career, and a Day 3 pick might be all it takes to get him another shiny toy to play with.
