After the Green Bay Packers got off to an impressive 2-0 start, several analysts were quick to argue that they look like the best team in the NFL. The Packers seem to agree. Rasheed Walker made that evident on Wednesday as he casually fired off some bold statements about his belief in the team.

The veteran offensive tackle sat in his locker and told the media, straight up, he believes Green Bay can go undefeated.

Walker said the Packers could’ve gone undefeated the past two seasons, saying the team lost the games they did lose off a couple of plays. But as far as this year’s team, Walker argued that, pound for pound, he doesn’t see a team better than Green Bay, and that’s why he’s so confident.

Of course, the tackle’s comments were met with a lot of pushback, even from Packers fans. They’d prefer if the team didn’t put this kind of target on its back, or put these words out that could come back and haunt them if things go wrong. However, there’s nothing wrong with saying what you feel as long as you’re prepared to stand on it, or face the music when your words backfire.

Walker can’t walk back his comments now, and considering how confidently he shared them, he has no intention to. He believes in his team, and now it’s up to him and the team to make his comments look wise instead of foolish. Confident instead of arrogant, because the difference between the two is results.

If it makes fans feel any better, there is some duality in mindsets in the locker room. Just recently, team captain Xavier McKinney reminded everyone the Packers haven’t done anything yet. So while Green Bay is confident in its status as an elite team, it knows it has plenty more work to do.
