The Green Bay Packers only made six selections in the 2026 NFL Draft, but they added nine more rookies in undrafted free agency on Saturday night.

General manager Brian Gutekunst went defensive-heavy in the draft, selecting cornerbacks Brandon Cisse and Domani Jackson, defensive lineman Chris McClellan, edge-rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton, offensive lineman Jager Burton, and kicker Trey Smack. Gutekunst attacked positions of need throughout the weekend.

Once the Packers placed a bow on their draft class, they got to work on undrafted free agency. Green Bay has yet to announce these moves officially, but the team has reportedly signed these nine players:

  • Kyron Drones, QB, Virginia Tech
  • TJ Quinn, LB, Louisville
  • Josh Gesky, G, Illinois
  • Jaden Nixon, RB, UCF
  • Murvin Kenion III, S, Nevada
  • Dylan Barrett, OL, Iowa State
  • Nyjalik Kelly, DE, UCF
  • J. Michael Sturdivant, WR, Florida
  • R.J. Maryland, TE, SMU

Packers made a few notable additions in undrafted free agency

Gutekunst was able to have his cake and eat it too. He traded away both seventh-rounders to move up for kicker Trey Smack. While it took away two more swings in the final round, Gutekunst used the additional roster space to add undrafted rookies. And there's a strong possibility that if Green Bay still had those two seventh-rounders, he would've used them on players from the list above.

Four of the Packers' nine reported signings were among the team's 30 pre-draft visitors. History tells us to pay attention to that list, as several end up in Green Bay either as draft picks or undrafted signings.

In Dane Brugler's annual The Beast draft guide, he gave wide receiver J. Michael Sturdivant a Round 6 grade, while guard Josh Gesky and edge defender Nyjalik Kelly received Round 7 grades. The Packers effectively added three more draft picks here.

The positions are notable, too.

Green Bay went need-heavy in the draft, addressing its biggest issues at cornerback, defensive tackle, and edge-rusher. However, Gutekunst only added one offensive lineman and didn't draft a running back, tight end, or quarterback to compete for the backup job. He addressed all three areas in undrafted free agency, creating more competition at training camp.

The Packers have a strong track record with undrafted free agents. They will all get an opportunity over the summer, and there's usually one surprise name who makes the 53-man roster.

Gutekunst could still add names to this list, and several more players will participate in rookie tryouts. But for now, we know nine reported signings headed to Green Bay along with the six draft picks.
