The Green Bay Packers conducted a very meat-and-potatoes NFL Draft, as they loaded up on the trenches with two mid-round picks and used their best available selection on second-round South Carolina cornerback Brandon Cisse. Not bad for a team with no first-round pick due to the Micah Parsons trade.
The Packers' new additions will serve as a wake-up call to this roster, as some holdovers from last year's team now have some competition breathing down their necks in what promises to be a pivotal season.
These five players are all in danger of seeing their responsibilities gradually slipping away, as all of the new young Packers have very clear avenues to playing time.
Packers sent a message to these 5 players with 2026 NFL Draft picks
5. CB Benjamin St-Juste
St-Juste may have signed with the Packers thinking he was going to provide some depth on the outside, but with Domani Jackson and his immense physical tools coming to town, Green Bay may pick the younger toolsy prospect if push comes to shove.
4. OG Anthony Belton
Fifth-round selection Jager Burton stands out as one of the best athletes at the position in this entire class, and with 47 career starts, his experience may give Belton a run for his money. It should surprise no one if Burton ends up becoming a starter at one of the guard spots at some point in his career.
3. Edge Lukas Van Ness
Van Ness' lack of production prompted both the Parsons trade a year ago and the selection of Dani Dennis-Sutton in the fourth round. Considering that Green Bay is widely considered to have stolen Dennis-Sutton on Day 3, the former Penn State star might use his edge-setting styles to push Van Ness out of a starting role.
2. DT Devonte Wyatt
Wyatt, fresh off an injury that derailed his 2025 campaign, now needs to deal with a challenge from Chris McClellan. All McClellan needs to do is flex that same interior disruption ability that made him such a gem in his collegiate career, and Wyatt may gradually start to see his snaps decrease.
1. CB Keisean Nixon
Nixon was supposed to leap right into an elevated role this season with the Packers, but after using their best pick on a player like Cisse, Green Bay is likely going to give the former Gamecocks star every opportunity to succeed, and that may block Nixon from reaching top dog status.
