Jordan Love will have some help in Week 14.
Both Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden will return for the Green Bay Packers' crucial game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. It means for the first time, Jordan Love will have Reed, Golden, Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Dontayvion Wicks to throw to in the same game.
It became clear Reed would make his return after the Packers activated him from injured reserve on Saturday. He hasn't played since Week 2, and his return to the lineup could open up a new layer in the Packers' passing game. Reed can play in the slot and catch passes out of the backfield — he thrives after the catch.
Full Packers inactives list for Week 14 vs. Bears
Here is Green Bay's full inactive list for Week 14 against Chicago:
- OL Donovan Jennings
- DL Quinton Bohanna
- WR Savion Williams
- DL Lukas Van Ness
- DL Nazir Stackhouse
The good news doesn't stop there. Javon Bullard, who is having an excellent second season as the Packers' primary slot corner, is active. So, too, is Nate Hobbs, who returns from a knee injury. He can provide cover at each cornerback spot.
Green Bay also welcomes back linebacker Quay Walker to the lineup after missing the past two games. He will play a crucial role in slowing down the Bears' dominant rushing attack.
There will be no Savion Williams, who continues to deal with a foot injury. Reed could take on some of his snaps and play the gadget role Matt LaFleur often likes to deploy.
Reed's return is the big one, but we shouldn't underestimate Golden's availability, either. With Reed in the slot, Golden could get a few opportunities to test the Bears' secondary. Chicago takes the ball away but is prone to allowing big completions downfield. Will this be the Golden breakout game?
