Newest big-name free-agent could be fun for Packers (but maybe not good)

Just hear me out. Please?

I'm writing this on a Friday afternoon with the hopes that no one reads it. It's not that I don't think it's a good idea, I just know that Packers Twitter is going to jump all over this in a very snarky way that I don't want to deal with heading into the weekend. And what better time to bury a (probably bad) idea than to publish it on Friday afternoon?

The Packers' passing game is kinda meh. You know this, I know this, Matt LaFleur knows this. Heading into Week 15's game in Seattle, they currently rank 31st in attempts, 21st in interceptions, 10th in yards, and 6th in touchdowns. The Jordan Love experience is a real rollercoaster, and injuries have hampered what were expected to be big seasons from some of Green Bay's young pass catchers.

But, what if I told you there was a better way? What if I told you a probably-washed player just became available to the Packers, and would definitely re-find his form in Green Bay?! You're in luck because that's exactly what I'm here to tell you. Let's speculate!

Odell Beckham Jr. would be an interesting addition to the Packers' WR room

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Miami Dolphins are releasing Odell Beckham Jr.

Before you start: I know. I know he's washed up. I know he hasn't played well in legitimate years at this point. You don't think I know this? Let's not let details get in the way of a good idea. It's kind of like the movie Tenet: no good comes from thinking too hard about it. Just buy in and enjoy the ride.

And the Packers' wide receiver room is deep, but it's not that deep. With Romeo Doubs still in concussion protocol and Jayden Reed's little mini-slump, it's not like there's *no* room to take a chance on a proven guy like OBJ. Maybe he has a little of that Rams-OBJ still in him? Or maybe they sign him and nothing happens at all and this year continues on in the exact same way. Who cares. It's a fun idea, and one worth spending approximately 410 words on.

We'll see who's laughing when OBJ hauls in that game-winning touchdown in the back of the Lions' end zone with 45 seconds left in the NFC Championship game. And I know everyone's laughing at this now, but we'll see who's laughing then.
