4 Packers players who are turning heads after second week of training camp
The opening two weeks of Green Bay Packers training camp have flown by.
Family Night delivered, as it always does, and the Packers now shift their focus to the preseason, which begins on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday.
There is still so much to play for on both sides of the ball over the next few weeks, but some players have stood out in the opening two weeks of camp.
These four players are turning heads at Packers training camp.
4. Sean Clifford has done enough to land Packers backup QB job
Sean Clifford has impressed the coaches so much that he already seems to have won his positional battle.
The Packers released Danny Etling following Family Night, clearing the path for Clifford to secure the backup quarterback job. And he has earned it.
Clifford isn't going to compete for a starting job anytime soon, but he has exceeded expectations for a fifth-round rookie.
Of course, preseason hasn't started yet, and Clifford hasn't been named the No. 2 quarterback officially. But the Packers drafted him and he has shown potential on the practice field. They couldn't have asked for much more.
It will be a huge surprise if Clifford doesn't make the 53-man roster. That was anything but guaranteed at the start of training camp, but the rookie has been impressive.
