5 things to watch at Packers OTAs starting this week
1. All eyes on Jordan Love
Jordan Love got all the first-team reps at OTAs a year ago with Aaron Rodgers not in attendance, but it's different this spring. With Rodgers gone, this is now Love's team. His offense.
Instead of stepping in for Rodgers, Love is the new leader.
Earlier this month, Love handled questions from reporters with class while displaying quiet confidence. Now that he is QB1 in Green Bay, it will be interesting to see how he has adapted to his new role.
On the field, the focus will be Love building chemistry with his new-look receiving corps. That includes second-year players Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, who will lead the way at wide receiver this season, but also the rookies.
Can Love show improvements from last year? How will he handle the role of being a leader? With that comes more pressure and expectation.
It's hard not to be impressed with how Love has navigated his way through a challenging few years. He had to sit on the bench for three seasons, living through the uncertainty of Aaron Rodgers' future while also being thrown into some tough spots, like making his first career start at Arrowhead Stadium.
It's Love's team now, and all eyes will be on the Packers' QB1 at OTAs.
