The ever-perceptive Aaron Rodgers is back on the field in addition to his weekly scheduled programming on the Pat McAfee Show, and Rodgers is still providing the football world with excellent weekly clips regarding the goings on not just with the New York Jets but all around the league. Including, of course, the Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers was asked about the performance of young quarterback Malik Willis, who made NFL history by becoming the first player in any of our lifetimes to throw and run for a touchdown pass against the team that drafted him just 27 days after being let go by the team.

Rodgers was specifically asked how difficult that is and he gave everyone a great quote.

Aaron Rodgers says Packers HC Matt LaFleur was "in his bag" vs. Titans

Rodgers enjoyed what he saw from Willis and the Packers in Week 3. He heaped praise on his former head coach and Green Bay's new backup quarterback during his latest appearance on the Pat McAfeee Show.

"It's really hard. I think Matt (LaFleur) deserves a lot of credit for the plan he put together," said Rodgers. "I didn't see either game, but I saw a couple of the clips of Malik (Willis). It looked like he made a couple of really nice throws to Christian (Watson) down the field."

"Matt, I think, as they say, was in his bag with the play-calling."

It's fun to hear Rodgers say nice things about the Packers, of course, and enough time has passed now that he's probably not still holding any sort of real grudge with the organization. There was obviously friction between Rodgers and the Packers, including at times seemingly between Rodgers and LaFleur while they were working together.

The perception from a lot of people was that Rodgers was just running the show and LaFleur didn't have nearly as much to do with it, but we're seeing these days more and more just how "in his bag" LaFleur has been, not only helping transform Jordan Love into one of the best QBs in the league last year, but helping Willis become one of the great stories early on in this 2024 NFL season.

After a brutal start to his Jets career in 2023, Rodgers seems to be back on track at the start of the 2024 season. While the Packers' wins have been impressive in their own right thanks to Willis playing above what everyone thought he was capable of, the Jets are fresh off of one of the most impressive wins of the early season as well.

And Rodgers looked like vintage Rodgers in the win.

We'll see how the rest of the season progresses, but both Rodgers and the Packers have a 2-1 record heading into Week 4.
