The Green Bay Packers are fully aware of their kicking problem. They hosted two kickers earlier this week for tryouts, which shows the wheels are in motion to find a replacement for struggling rookie Brayden Narveson.

However, they have already lost the opportunity to sign one of their two targets.

The Arizona Cardinals have signed Chad Ryland to their practice squad only a day after the Packers brought him in for a workout. Arizona wasted no time to make a move, leaving Green Bay with one less option.

Ryland was hardly guaranteed to solve the Packers' kicking woes. The New England Patriots drafted him in the fourth round last year, but after converting just 64 percent of his field goals, they moved on this summer.

Remaining options for the Packers to replace Brayden Narveson

It's easy to say the Packers need to make a kicking change, but finding an upgrade is another question altogether.

Green Bay also hosted Lucas Havrisik for a workout, who converted 75 percent of his field goals and missed three extra-point tries for the Los Angeles Rams last season. Veteran free agents include Brett Maher, Randy Bullock, and Cade York. One of those kickers would likely give the Packers an upgrade, but there are no guarantees.

Former Packers draft pick Anders Carlson is still available. While he might be a better option than Narveson, they shouldn't bring him back. Green Bay moved on for a reason.

The Packers also have Alex Hale on the practice squad as part of the NFL International Pathway Program. That would be a gamble. He didn't even kick in the preseason and has no NFL experience.

The lack of options is likely why the Packers haven't signed another kicker. While they would love more consistency, there are no obvious names to replace Narveson. They may give their rookie kicker another week or two.

However, if his misses continue, he will give the Packers no choice but to make a change.
