4 Davante Adams trade destinations that would be a nightmare scenario for Packers
By Mike Luciano
The Green Bay Packers decided to get off the Davante Adams train a few years ago, trading him to the Las Vegas Raiders in a move that gave No. 17 the contract he wanted. However, just two years later, things have fallen apart so drastically that Adams no longer wants to stick around in Green Bay.
Adams has already informed the Raiders, who are 2-2 to start the season, that he prefers to be traded away. The Packers will assuredly not be in the market for Adams, who is still owed a ton of money, but they need to keep an eye on where he ends up.
If the Raiders end up sending Adams to one of these four destinations, the Packers may need to brace for the worst-case scenarios the front office spent all season worrying about becoming reality in short order.
Davante Adams trade destinations that would be brutal for Packers
Baltimore Ravens
If the Packers end up going on a crazy postseason run and make it to the Super Bowl, Baltimore might be the favorite to come out of the AFC if they acquire Adams. Giving him to a player like Lamar Jackson could be a brutal matchup for any defense, let alone a banged-up Green Bay secondary.
Dallas Cowboys
This trade is by no means practical or financially flexible, but Jerry Jones is never going to turn down an offer for a star player like this if it means that he could add a player like Adams to the mix. Dallas is not a viable Super Bowl roster at this moment in time, but Adams could end up taking them there.
Detroit Lions
Outside of Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit is fairly thin at the wide receiver spot as Jameson Williams tries to prove himself. Adding Adams to a team that already as Jared Goff and Ben Johnson creating one of the game's most effective offenses, the Lions could end up running away with the NFC North.
New York Jets
The Jets have very little wiggle room on their salary cap, and they have to pay many of their young stars, but Aaron Rodgers will be all-in on reuniting with his old Packers best friend. The Jets have a roster capable of making noise in the playoffs, and the thought of Rodgers and Adams linking up for postseason glory away from the Packers could really sting.
