Former Packers who could still play if they came out of retirement in 2024
2. Whitney Mercilus, EDGE
You can never have too many pass rushers, right?
Whitney Mercilus is as a pass rusher what you might think of in terms of a great shooter in basketball. For great shooters, their shot is the last thing to go. For a great pass rusher like Mercilus, the ability to get to the quarterback is almost just innate.
Mercilus spent part of the 2021 season with the Packers and racked up four total sacks on just over 300 snaps that year. That was the last time he played in the NFL, but Mercilus is still only 33 years old and you never know when these guys might get the itch to get back out there.
3. Kevin King, CB
Former Packers second-round pick Kevin King has been out of football since 2021 but is already in the process of trying to make a comeback.
The Packers would have to wait for the Falcons to be done with the King experiment, but depending on how it goes, they could be willing to bring him in for another look this offseason. If King is already getting looks from other NFL teams, then perhaps his attempt at a comeback will pique Brian Gutekunst's interest.
It's been a while since King had any real production in the NFL, but he did play his first five NFL seasons with Green Bay and had a career-high five interceptions in 2019.
