2024 NFL 3-Round Mock Draft: Packers fix secondary, land star receiver after trade
No matter how the final three games of the regular season turn out for the Green Bay Packers, there are positives to take away.
Jordan Love has shown the development the Packers hoped to see. He is Green Bay's future. General manager Brian Gutekunst deserves praise for drafting Luke Musgrave, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks. The Packers found three top targets for Love in one draft.
Green Bay has put together the building blocks for a competitive team. The next phase of the rebuild begins in the upcoming offseason, and the Packers enter the 2024 NFL Draft with five picks in the opening three rounds.
As things stand, that includes the 11th overall selection, giving Gutekunst a tremendous opportunity to load up on talent.
Packers trade down in first round of mock draft
One option is to trade down. In this scenario, the Packers land another premium pick by acquiring the Buffalo Bills' second-rounder. Green Bay only moves down seven positions and gives up a fourth. The Packers would now own three second-rounders, two thirds, and the No. 18 pick on the opening night.
With possible needs at tackle, cornerback, safety, and wide receiver, Gutekunst would have the draft capital to significantly upgrade the roster, especially in the early rounds.
