The Green Bay Packers will have to win without two starting wide receivers in Week 5.

Christian Watson suffered an ankle injury against the Minnesota Vikings, while the Packers have suspended Romeo Doubs for this game. It opens the door for Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton, and Malik Heath to make an impact alongside Jayden Reed.

Packers fans feared the worst when Watson got his ankle caught in the ground during a tackle last week. Fortunately, Watson avoided a significant injury, and Green Bay didn't feel the need to place him on injured reserve, which would've cost him at least four games.

The Packers didn't officially rule out Watson for Week 5 on Friday's injury report, which is encouraging for the long-term picture. However, he isn't expected to play.

Christian Watson isn't expected to play for Packers vs. Rams in Week 5

Green Bay didn't rule out Watson on its final injury report but made it pretty clear he wouldn't play. Watson's official status is doubtful.

Having avoided a serious injury, there's a chance he could return for next week's game against the Arizona Cardinals, but it's too early to tell. He isn't quite ready to play in Week 5. Add in Doubs' suspension, and the Packers' receiving depth will be tested.

Wicks saw an increase in snaps after Watson's injury last week. He dropped a few passes but came up big late in the game with two touchdowns. Hopefully, that allowed him to build some confidence so he can hit the ground running today.

Reed is the focal point of the Packers' passing game. He has made an unbelievable start to the season and is averaging 138.5 receiving yards and one touchdown in the two games Jordan Love has played.

Reed and Wicks will lead the way with Watson and Doubs not available.
