Is Jordan Love playing today? Full injury update for Packers quarterback
Nine days ago, the Green Bay Packers feared the worst when Jordan Love went down in pain late in the fourth quarter of their Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fortunately, Love avoided a significant injury, suffering a sprained MCL. What was unclear in the immediate aftermath was how many games—if any—Love would miss. Reported timelines ranged anywhere from two to six weeks. In the meantime, Malik Willis has prepared for starting duties with Love not practicing.
Despite not practicing all week, the Packers initially gave Love a questionable designation on the injury report. That has since changed, effectively ruling him out of today's game.
Jordan Love will not play in Packers' game vs. Colts in Week 2
UPDATE: The Packers have officially ruled out Jordan Love for Week 2. He is inactive.
The Packers downgraded Love's status from questionable to doubtful on Saturday, making it a near certainty he will not play in Week 2. They also promoted Sean Clifford to the active roster for gameday.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that Love won't play in Week 2 and called his chances of suiting up in next week's matchup with the Tennessee Titans "a long shot."

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero provided some more insight into Love's timeline to return. He believes it would be a "minor miracle" for Love to play against the Colts today.
"The initial timeline for Jordan Love, based on everything I was told, was three to six weeks," Pelissero told The Rich Eisen Show. "And there was optimism, even the day after the injury, that he was going to be back sooner than later."
So, there's that. It's the Malik Willis Show in the Packers' home opener.
Matt LaFleur will need to ensure Willis is comfortable with the game plan, which won't be easy, as he only arrived in Green Bay 20 days ago. That's not long to get up to speed with the playbook. The Packers also have Clifford available, but Willis is expected to start in place of Love.
Willis will make only his fourth career start and his first since 2022. He has yet to throw a touchdown pass in the regular season but has three interceptions. However, that was in his rookie season. Willis has had longer to develop his game and learn. He may not have a deep understanding of the playbook yet, but LaFleur has a quarterback-friendly scheme and will have developed a plan to make life as comfortable for him as possible.
Willis will get at least one start. Love won't play, but the hope is he won't miss too much time.
