It's always concerning when a player is placed on the non-football injury list before training camp. It came as a surprise when it was announced that Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was dealing with an injury. Understandably, fans were concerned.

But there's good news.

General manager Brian Gutekunst reassured fans, revealing that he doesn't expect Reed to be out for "too long."

The second-year receiver echoed Gutekunst's comments after practice.

Packers receiver Jayden Reed says his injury is 'nothing to worry about'

Reed spoke to reporters on Monday, revealing that he suffered a toe injury at a youth camp he held a few days earlier. According to The Athletic's Matt Schneidman, Reed said it's "nothing to worry about."

It's always best to be cautious with injuries at training camp. There is no point rushing Reed back too soon, especially while Jordan Love isn't practicing. Love and Reed have plenty of time before Week 1 to get reps together and build on their connection from last season.

Reed led the Packers in receiving, catching 64 passes for 793 yards and eight touchdowns. He also rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns.

That was in Reed's rookie season and Love's first year as a starter. Imagine what they can do this season. Love thinks second-year receivers Reed and Dontayvion Wicks will "take the league by storm" in 2024, and it's hard to disagree.

The Packers don't have any significant injury concerns this early in camp, especially with right tackle Zach Tom returning from a torn pec. However, along with Reed missing practice, Green Bay was also without rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd. Hopefully, it's nothing too serious.

The good news is that Reed should be back soon. It won't be long until we get to watch Love (once he signs his new deal) throwing passes to the former second-round pick.
