Expectations have raised significantly for the Green Bay Packers' offense, but they need to stay healthy.

Injuries hurt the Packers last season, as Christian Watson and Aaron Jones missed significant time due to hamstring issues. Jayden Reed emerged as a top target for Jordan Love in his first year, setting the pace for the Packers in receiving yards with 793, the third-best total among rookies in franchise history.

The Love-Reed connection can reach new heights this season. However, Reed could miss the start of training camp due to injury.

Packers place Jayden Reed on non-football injury list to begin training camp

According to Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated, the Packers have placed Reed on the non-football injury list to begin training camp. Love didn't have his full receiving corps available for most of last season, and the same is true to begin training camp.

What does this mean?

Unfortunately, we don't have further details on what the injury is. All this tells us is that Reed is unable to practice due to an injury he suffered outside of the facility. Hopefully, we'll get more details when head coach Matt LaFleur addresses the media.

The Packers have excellent depth at wide receiver, but Reed is going to play a significant role this season. They can't afford to miss their second-year star for long. He is one of Love's top targets.

Hopefully, Reed's injury isn't serious and he won't have to miss much practice time. While he's out, there will be more opportunities for receivers on the roster bubble, including Samori Toure and Grant DuBose.

A year ago, nobody knew what to expect from this team. Love entered his first season as the starter after waiting three years for his opportunity. He was surrounded by an exciting but inexperienced and unproven receiving corps. The results were encouraging.

If this group can stay healthy, look out. They have the talent to rank inside the top five in the NFL this season.

Hopefully, the Packers provide a positive injury update on Reed. His connection with Love is so important for this offense.
