Josh Jacobs sets an unwanted NFL career record in Packers' Week 4 game vs. Vikings

It's just not a record he probably wants.

It only took Josh Jacobs four games with the Green Bay Packers to set a new NFL record, but it's one he probably doesn't want.

After making his fifth catch of the season, Jacobs now has the most career receptions without a receiving touchdown.

Despite catching five for Alabama, he still hasn't made a receiving touchdown in the NFL.

Jacobs has caught 203 passes in his career for the Las Vegas Raiders and Packers, but he is still waiting for his first opportunity to make a touchdown reception. He breaks an NFL record that had stood since 1991 when Gerald Riggs caught his 201st pass without a touchdown.

The good news? Jacobs is getting targets in the Packers' offense. His usage in the passing game should increase in Green Bay, and it will inevitably lead to a touchdown, right?

Jordan Love is determined to help Josh Jacobs end receiving touchdown drought

Jordan Love returned in Week 4, and he wants to help Jacobs end his receiving touchdown drought. During the offseason, Love said he wanted to prevent Jacobs from setting this unwanted NFL record. That hasn't happened, but there's no doubt the two will soon connect for a touchdown.

Matt LaFleur likes to feature his running backs in the passing game. In the five seasons Aaron Jones played in LaFleur's system, he caught 237 passes for 1,848 yards and 17 touchdowns.

The opportunities will come for Jacobs, and his usage in the passing game when Love is under center highlights this.

The Packers believe Jacobs can become a bigger factor in the receiving game than he was in Las Vegas. In five seasons with the Raiders, he caught 197 passes for 1,448 yards. He has the ability as a pass-catcher, and LaFleur's system can unlock it.

The touchdown will come. It's only a matter of time. In the meantime, Jacobs can celebrate (maybe?) becoming a new NFL record-holder.
