5. Packers make blockbuster trade to get back into Round 1

Packers - Dolphins trade

The Minnesota Vikings just made a very similar trade to this one with the Houston Texans. The Texans sent the Vikings the 23rd overall pick in exchange for a second-rounder this year, a second-rounder next year, and a sixth-rounder this year.

Apparently, Houston was motivated to get an additional second-round pick to trade for Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

If the Packers were able to go into the 2024 NFL Draft armed with the 21st and 25th overall picks, they would also still have pick #58 overall in the second round and could possibly come away with two players who are graded among the top 20-25 on their board.

Any time you can add multiple guys you have a true first-round grade on, it's not a bad idea. This would be the equivalent of buying another first-round pick, and Green Bay would be able to add yet another tremendous talent to this roster on a team-friendly deal, only there would be five years of team control instead of four.

Would it be tough to part with a second-round pick next year? Sure, but with their extra capital in the top 100 picks this year, this would be a huge win for Green Bay, who could address multiple areas of need or be in a position to trade up into the top 10-15 picks and get an even higher-graded combination of players on their board.
