Matt LaFleur roasts Titans after Malik Willis beats them in return to Tennessee

This is just another reason why LaFleur is so great.

The Green Bay Packers didn't have Jordan Love in Week 3, but for the second straight game, it didn't matter. Malik Willis and the Packers' rushing attack took it to the Tennessee Titans in the blowout win, rushing for 188 yards and a touchdown.

Willis led the Packers in rushing, tallying 73 yards and a touchdown in the win while also throwing for over 200 yards and a score.

The Titans gave up on Willis, but he's shown that he's a serviceable quarterback and Matt LaFleur wanted the team to celebrate him following the 30-7 victory.

In this clip from Eli Berkovits on X, it sure sounded like LaFleur took a shot at the Titans.

"It's rare when you get to come back to a place that gets rid of your ass," said LaFleur. "This guy was 13 of 19 for 202, 73 yards on the ground and a tud... Malik Willis."

Tennessee traded Willis to Green Bay for a seventh-round pick less than four weeks ago. The Packers only have Willis as their quarterback while Love is out because the Titans deemed him not good enough.

In two starts, Willis has completed 76 percent of his passes for 324 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 114 yards and a score.

Malik Willis gets revenge for Packers in return to Tennessee

The Titans' loss has been the Packers' gain, as they've gone 2-0 with Willis under center, and he looks like a whole new quarterback under LaFleur. Willis wasn't good in Tennessee, so it's not shocking that the Titans were okay with moving on from him, but he's been reliable for the Packers and has helped get them above .500.

It was awesome enough that the Packers won yet another game despite not having Love under center, but it's an even sweeter victory for Willis, who got to stick it to his old team. Willis, of course, has been nothing but classy when discussing this matchup and what it means for him, so it's great for LaFleur to speak the words that Willis has probably been wanting to say but didn't.

The Packers are 2-1, and Willis is a big reason why that's the case. It's been incredible seeing him turn his career narrative around after not looking good while in Tennessee, and that's another credit to LaFleur.

It's also been fun to see the Packers head coach prop up his quarterback and help him regain his confidence.

The Packers' next game is against the undefeated Vikings and if Love can't go, the Packers will hope that Willis has another big win in him.
