Green Bay Packers trade up with Kansas City Chiefs

Round 1 (31): Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU

The Packers traded up to No. 34 overall last year to draft Christian Watson. In the right situation, they should consider doing it again.

TCU's Quentin Johnston could go as high as the top 15 or as low as the second round. It all depends on which draft analyst you ask. NFL.com's Bucky Brooks has three wide receivers being selected in the first round of his latest mock draft, but Johnston isn't one of them.

If I were Brian Gutekunst and Johnston falls to No. 31, I'd pick up the phone and do whatever it takes to trade up.

Like Watson, Johnston has a rare combination of size, speed, and athleticism. Together, they would be a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators.

"With his all-encompassing talent, Johnston can be a versatile, dynamic catalyst for an NFL offense — a true centerpiece with the potential to be a game-changing force," wrote Ian Cummings of Pro Football Network.

The 21-year-old was named a first-team All-Big 12 the past two seasons, and he caught 60 passes for 1,069 yards and six touchdowns in 14 games last year.

By the end of the first round, the Packers would've solved their issue at wide receiver. A top five of Christian Watson, Quentin Johnston, Romeo Doubs, Corey Davis, and Samori Toure could be unstoppable.
