5 intriguing roster cuts the Packers should pursue on waivers
4. Zack Kuntz, tight end
It's not just about getting at a division rival like the Vikings, but how about stealing from Aaron Rodgers' Jets? Obviously, the Jets have a wide array of weapons for Rodgers to get the ball to, and losing a seventh-round tight end might not cause them to lose sleep at night, but the Packers could try to steal a "perfect 10" and get yet another young tight end on the roster.
The Packers were obviously heavily invested in tight ends in the 2023 NFL Draft class. They drafted both Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft. But a player like Zack Kuntz has never really come along. He basically has the highest score you can get for a tight end on the RAS (relative athletic score) scale.
5. Sam Webb, cornerback
As the Green Bay Packers take a look at the waiver wire at the cornerback position, one player that could be very intriguing is former Las Vegas Raiders UDFA gem Sam Webb. Webb was undrafted in 2022 but certainly has the size and athletic makeup to be a good NFL cornerback:
Vegas really overhauled its cornerback position this past year, so there just wasn't room enough for Webb anymore, but this is a player who played 17 games last season and saw 327 defensive snaps in total.
The Raiders are obviously hoping to get him back on the practice squad, but other teams (like the Green Bay Packers) could scoop him up and try to continue furthering his development. The Raiders might have let him get away too soon.
