Cornerback (5)

  • Jaire Alexander
  • Rasul Douglas
  • Eric Stokes
  • Keisean Nixon
  • Carrington Valentine

Carrington Valentine was one of the surprise standouts at OTAs, increasing his chances of making the roster. The Packers drafted Valentine in the seventh round and he is off to an encouraging start this summer.

The top four is set, but there will be competition for the fifth (and possibly sixth) spot on the roster. Valentine will compete with Corey Ballentine, Kiondre Thomas, and Shemar Jean-Charles.

Safety (6)

  • Darnell Savage
  • Rudy Ford
  • Jonathan Owens
  • Tarvarius Moore
  • Dallin Leavitt
  • Anthony Johnson Jr.

There are three new additions at safety for the Packers. Following Adrian Amos' departure in free agency, the Packers brought in Tarvarius Moore and Jonathan Owens and then drafted Anthony Johnson, giving the team good depth and plenty of competition at training camp.

It's unclear who will start next to Darnell Savage and how many safeties the Packers will keep. Adding another veteran to compete for the starting job could make sense before training camp.

Special teams (3)

  • Anders Carlson (K)
  • Pat O'Donnell (P)
  • Matt Orzech (LS)

The Packers have a new kicker and long snapper this season. Draft pick Anders Carlson is the likely replacement for Mason Crosby. Green Bay also signed former Los Angeles Rams long snapper Matt Orzech.

Carlson is the frontrunner to win the kicking job, but he will need to perform well at training camp and in the preseason, or the Packers may be forced to bring in a veteran.
