Packers disrespected in opening odds to win NFC North in 2024
The biggest question the Green Bay Packers had to answer in the 2023 season was whether or not Jordan Love was going to be their quarterback of the future. He passed that test with flying colors, improving as the season progressed, and ended up being one of the best players at the position by the time the 2023 campaign concluded.
Love led them to a playoff berth and an upset over the Dallas Cowboys in the opening round before falling just short to the No. 1 seed San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.
So, what should we expect from the Packers in 2024? Vegas has released odds to win each division next season and they still think the Detroit Lions are the cream of the crop in the NFC North. Shouldn't the Packers be getting some more love as division contenders?
Let's dive into the odds and then I'll break down the Packers' odds to re-claim the division.

Packers present great betting value to win NFC North
The Packers are set at +230 at FanDuel Sportsbook to win the division. That's an implied probability of 30.30% of winning the NFC North. If you bet $100 on them to do so, you'd win a profit of $230 if they're able to achieve the feat.
There's no division in football that's projected to be more competitive from top to bottom this upcoming season than the NFC North. The Detroit Lions are still favored at +145, but the worst team in the division, the Chicago Bears, are still potential contenders set at +440. Every other division in football has at least one team with +650 odds to longer to win.
While the Lions are favored, I think the Packers have by far the best value on the board to win the NFC North. The Packers were right behind the Lions in average scoring margin this past season. The Lions finished the year at +3.6 and the Packers were right behind them at +2.4. Green Bay also beat Detroit on Thanksgiving.
The Lions may have the better team in this moment, but the Packers sport one of the youngest rosters in football and as we saw in 2023, they can make huge strides as the season progresses.
Green Bay is worth a bet to win the division at its current price point.
