Remember when Justin Fields was supposed to be quarterback to finally help the Chicago Bears beat the Green Bay Packers? Remember when the Bears didn't need to trade him or would definitely get a premium pick?

Yep, me too.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bears are trading Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a conditional sixth-round pick. Yes, you read that right—a sixth-round pick.

It will improve to a fourth if Fields plays 51 percent of the snaps. The problem? The Steelers recently signed Russell Wilson, and, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, a source told him that "Russ is the starter."

Needless to say, Packers fans are having a lot of fun on social media.

Packers fans can only laugh as Bears get fleeced in Justin Fields trade

Packers and Bears fans went back and forth throughout the 2023 offseason about which quarterback was better: Fields or Jordan Love. The rivalry heated up once the schedule makers put the two teams against each other in the season opener.

It's a different story now. The Bears have traded Fields for a late Day 3 pick while the Packers are preparing to hand Love a huge contract extension.

Packers fans are finding the receipts.

Fields went 0-6 against the Packers, throwing for 1,086 yards, four touchdowns, and seven interceptions with a passer rating of 75.5. He rushed for 294 yards and two touchdowns. He gets another opportunity with the Steelers, with the Bears presumably moving to Caleb Williams with the top pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Bears made the right call to trade Fields, but they got far less in the deal than they likely ever anticipated.

Chicago will likely improve with Williams leading the offense, but Packers fans are enjoying taking a victory lap after the Bears got fleeced in this trade.
