Packers fans shouldn't hit the panic button entering Week 5
Through the first four weeks of the season, the Green Bay Packers find themselves at 2-2 and in third place in the NFC North. While the position they are currently in is not great, and some have resorted to smashing the panic button like it is going out of style, it is not the time for that as of yet.
First off, it must be mentioned that the Packers were one of two teams to begin their season in uncharted territory. Facing the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil was met with its unique set of challenges, and coming up short in that Friday night contest was not exactly a surprise.
This is not to be taken as an excuse, even though it seems like it. It's just a statement of fact that while 30 other teams were playing somewhere in the continental United States, Green Bay and Philadelphia were squaring up in a different hemisphere. This is going to have an impact lasting beyond just that week, and it is clear for both squads that it has.
Not helping matters for the Packers is that they were without the services of Jordan Love for Weeks 2 and 3. Malik Willis was able to guide Green Bay to wins in Love's absence, only for the Packers to fall 31-29 to the surprising Minnesota Vikings in his return.
One positive takeaway from that outing was that Love nearly threw for 400 yards with his four touchdown passes. The three interceptions were not great, but being a little off from a chemistry standpoint should be somewhat expected for someone playing for the first time in over three weeks.

It is important to understand how the Packers got to their current 2-2 record, but what is more important is what lies ahead of them. Green Bay has three winnable games in the next four weeks against the Los Angeles Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and Jacksonville Jaguars. The Packers will also face the Houston Texans in that span, but that seems to be more of a tossup, considering the talent on Houston's roster.
A winning record in October combined with cutting down on costly turnovers over the next few weeks should result in everyone feeling a lot more confident about how things stand in Green Bay.
Should they continue to hang around .500 or go on an extended losing streak, then, and only then, would it be the right time to consider panicking. But for now, there is no reason to panic, as this team appears more than ready to right the ship and stack a few wins together before they start facing some tougher opponents on their schedule.
